Elton John Signed Autograph Watford FC Newspaper Press Clip 1974

Description: A genuine signature for sale of the legendary performer Elton John. Elton has quickly scribbled his name alongside a picture and a news story about himself in his role as then director, (future chairman), of Watford Football Club. The story then has been cut from its original source and placed into what appears to be a Watford FC scrap book of sorts - this is evident from the parts of clips on the rear containing a team line up, and a further part of a story. The clip featuring Elton and his signature has then been removed again to be presented as an individual item. The testimonial dance the newspaper item refers to took place in March 1974. Duncan Welbourne was a retiring well respected Watford footballer, and Elton John was a new club director - soon to elevate to chairman in 1976. A testimonial football match to commemorate Duncan Welbourne took place on 7th May 1974 - the programme referring to the dance and performance by Elton John. The autographed item itself has been stored brilliantly and is presented in near mint condition. This item was recently sold at auction as part of an autograph collection job lot.
