Description: For sale is my old Epiphone EJ160E. I bought it new more than 20 years ago, and it was my first good-playing guitar. I babied it for years when I was a teenager. It was made in the Peerless factory in January 2001, so right at the start of the run of second-version Korean models, and it has a vintage orange label, which is rare for these guitars. (The Peerless factory made better-quality guitars than the Indonesian and Chinese versions that followed). The guitar still plays and sounds great, with the signature wide nut of these models, which is probably my favorite part of the guitar. It's a very comfortable, great-playing guitar. I assume it could use a setup, since it's been in its case for a long time; however, it always had excellent action, a pleasure to play. My collection is getting too large for my space at this point, and this one has just been sitting in a case, so it's time for it to go. It's got basic playwear that you might expect over two decades, but no major issues. The frets show some wear in the cowboy chord positions, but they have tons of life left. There's one small (maybe finish?) crack at the treble side of the bridge. It’s about an inch or two long and doesn't move. You can sort of see it if you look for it in the photos. It’s stable, has never changed since I first noticed it years ago, and is right over the main part of the x-brace, so I don't think it's a big deal, but I wanted to mention it. I swapped out the knobs at some point to goldtops, but I'll include the original orange translucent as well. The P-100 pickup works and has a unique sound, but it's different than a standard acoustic-electric. It’s a bit noisy but does give you the “I Feel Fine” sound and can reproduce that feedback from the A string exactly. Lean it up against an amp and pluck an A on bass nearby and it’ll transport you. I always just played it acoustically, and it sounds surprisingly good with a condenser close-mic'd in front of it, like a much higher-end guitar. To me, that’s how to use it. It's great for a young Beatle fan, and I worked through their entire catalog on this guitar. Those were the days. I’ll ship it in the vintage tweed case it’s lived in all these years, and the endpins will be in there as well.
