To save weight, ESX manufactures the subwoofers in a lightweight ABS construction, and they have robust metal grilles at the front for protection. Like all VXM speakers, they have efficient and powerful neodymium magnets. Since a very linear reproduction is particularly important in the mid-range, very light glass fiber membranes are used in the 10 cm VXM models. For front doors, the 2-way compo VXM4.2C equipped with separate tweeters is recommended, for the rear doors the coaxial set VXM42. Both have lightweight silk domes for best high frequency reproduction. The VXM40F center speaker can be connected to the Mercedes SOS system thanks to the second voice coil. Care was always taken to ensure that the installation of the components was easy. This means that no cables need to be cut or any metal parts removed.
