Description: Two cuff size Federal Officer’s buttons found in “Confederate Gen. Young’s Cavalry Brigade” 1864 winter camp near Petersburg, Virginia. The one with the “I” in the shield is an Infantry officer the other is a Staff officer. They may have been lost off captured uniforms utilized during the winter by Confederate soldiers. They are mounted in a 3 1/4” x 4 1/4” Riker style case with glass front as shown with tag. The original tags are in the bottom of the case. All of the artifacts are guaranteed to be original as stated. A hand signed and dated “Certificate of Authenticity” will be issued by Collectors Frame with a photograph and description of the items purchased.
