The original SP record has a wonderful sound quality that is out of date, but it is expected that the work will be done by making UHQCD by the latest reproduction. The sequel to Weingartner is Mendelssohn's "Scotland," which is still known for its supreme performance. Although Weingartner left a large number of recordings, for some reason this is the only Romantic symphony, and it is also a masterpiece that is transparent with the usual playing style that emphasizes the flow. No one disagrees with the wonderfulness of this performance, but since it was recorded in 1929, there is a limit to the sound quality, so I wonder if it is the real intention to recommend it. In the LP era, ARTISCO reprints were known in Japan, but when I listen to them now, I still want to tilt my head to the unnatural echo addition. There is an IRON NEEDLE board in the CD era, but I think that there are many fans who bought it unavoidably due to a rough reproduction. Shinseido's complete works are also plain reproductions, but I feel the power of the sound is weak. This time, I played the American version (Shinseido's reprint is the British version). It can be said that there is no 78rpm record in good condition because of the SP more than 90 years ago, and although it was difficult to reproduce and fix the flaws, Weingartner had such a sad song and dramatic swell. We have dug up the vitality that makes us think that both are compatible. Coupling combines Schubert with Weber's masterpiece, which gives off the rich scent of German romance.
