Description: Hey folks, We're a small studio/workshop that specializes in electro-mechanical keyboards. Our main tech was unhappy with the available options for tone bar grommets. So we set out to find a better one.... We ended up working with an American small rubber part manufacturer to make something better. This is the result: Our grommets are medium density cast rubber with very high consistency and isolation. They're made to fit the tone bar, screw and spring assembly very precisely. With our grommets you don't need to buy new screws, saving expense and potential board wear. Our grommets accept a standard or flanged replacement screw - allowing easier, faster and less expensive repairs. These grommets feature a "flat head" which doesn't deform under the spring pressure. They are the only grommets available that do this! Our grommets have been used on hundreds of Rhodes and in professional sound studios with excellent results! Some Rhodes are made with fully threaded screws, others with a more conventional bugle head. Our grommets fit snuggly with both screw types. This allows the owner to replace stripped screws with standard 1 1/2" #8 stainless steel pan head screw. You can find these at nearly every hardware store. Also, you can re-use the existing screws which are in good condition. Because the best fitting screws for your board are the original screws! They are thicker and also have a wider flat flange on top for longer life and even pressure distribution. Our grommets have a longer shaft which keeps the spring better centered. To be fair they do take a little more time and effort to install as they don't just slip on. But we feel the added stability and isolation is worth it. Plus they are a universal fit for the existing screws. It may seem silly to talk about what is a somewhat minor part but we feel if you're going to make something you should make it the best you can.If you're going to improve something you should make it so it won't need to be improved again.I think we've done that. And we manufactured a ton of them to keep them affordable. These are higher quality, using more raw material, in a better shape and costing the same or less as other options. We're proud to be the only supplier who sells these grommets. We're not in it for the money. We love these instruments and we want to keep them in service for future generations. Let us know if you have any questions. We're here to help! Thanks for looking,Avion Studios Inserting videos has been a little difficult recently but hopefully this link will work for awhile. Here's the first part of our two part series on rubber grommets which demonstrates both installation, regulation and the benefits in sound quality.
