Description: These are my Round Eye Punches Each punch is made from brand-new, 5/8-inch round, 5160 spring steel, and stamps an approximately 5/16-inch diameter round eye. Each punch is approximately 9-inches long and is intended to be used as a hand-held forging tool. The working surface is polished to 120 grit. These punches are intended for use on hot steel, and are not hardened and tempered. The natural resilience of 5160 spring steel makes this tool extremely tough, and it will give you many years of good service in it's intended use! I use these same style of tools on a daily basis and I do not harden and temper them at all.
