Description: This folk art piece was purchased from Echo Galleries. Colorful artwork features to people wearing stag horns or flowers, two snakes above the sun and two homes and a pair of pants on the lower portion. Retains remnants old paper label on the back and details this piece was made by the Huichol Indians. 24" wide x 24" tall. Has very minor losses and moth damage along the edge and one piece of yarn at the top that has raised on the green border needs to be reglued. Otherwise, very good condition. Huichol paintings are made with beeswax spread on wood, then left to warm in the sun. The artist then scratches his design into the wax with a sharpened stick. The lines of the drawing are then filled in by patiently twisting and coiling colored yarns Track Page Views WithAuctiva's Counter
