Description: For your consideration is a set of 351C 4V 4 Dot Cleveland Quench Close Chambered Heads.As can be seen, from the factory, these 4 dot 4V heads have the pedestal fulcrums for non-adjustable rocker arms. Alpha/numeric casting numbers for both heads are D1AE-GA with matching date codes of 0J4...1970 Sep 4. The heads have been cleaned, pressure checked, and checked for cracks (magna-fluxed).They have checked out good with NO current issues.There are no existing cracks and the coolant passages hold pressure.The machine shop that performed these pressure/crack checks indicated that: 1) existing hardened exhaust seats are installed.AND 2) existing bronze valve guide sleeves are installed. AND3) the indicator marks show there is still plenty of "meat" left if re-surfacing any and/or all mating surfaces will ever be necessary.AND4) these are very good hard to find re-buildable heads. PLEASE NOTE: At some point in the past, a successful small crack repair was performed between the intake valve guide and rocker pedestal on 1 of these heads. Depending on installation, the repair is closest to the firewall if this affected head is installed on the driver's side of the block OR nearest to the radiator if installed on the passenger side of he block. The machine shop indicated there are NO cracks in these heads, therefore this very small crack that was repaired decades ago did not elongate and the repair was successful. The single pin repair, as can be seen with a pen as a reference, is near the date code and near the intake valve guide area. And for some reason, as can be seen, the end of this single pin protrudes into the intake runner and did not get ground off. A very unusual place for a crack to be but nevertheless the repair held up and was trouble free on an engine for a couple of decades. The machine shop also indicated the repair was no where near a coolant passage. And, to re-iterate, the repaired crack done decades ago did NOT allow the crack to propagate further. In other words, it was a successful repair and these heads have no other current cracks. Besides this 1 small successful repair, it appears as though the rest of these heads are: 1) un-altered form the factory, as there is still casting flash in all the intake/exhaust runners and combustion chambers 2) the spark plug hole threads are all good, 3) all other intake manifold threaded holes are good, 4) all threaded holes on the front sides and back sides of both heads for accessory equipment are all good, and 5) these heads are hard to find re-buildable heads with the added bonus of MATCHING DATE CODES!!! These heads did not have any machine work performed when checked for cracks and pressure. In other words: 1) the machine shop did NOT re-surface any mating surfaces and 2) the machine shop did NOT check for flatness on the combustion chamber sides and 3) the machine shop did NOT check valve guide clearances and 4) the machine shop did NOT re-surface any of the valve seats and 5) the machine shop did NOT check for valve seat concentricity. Please see all pictures provided as the pictures are part of the description and show the actual current condition of these heads. All sides of the heads are pictured. If you need more pictures posted, something pictured more close up, something described in detail about what you see.....just ask. FYI....These heads being offered are bare.... (with the exception of the valve guides and hardened exhaust seats still installed). The heads were complete prior to disassembly and being checked out at the machine shop. The other complete component sets (valves, rockers, springs, keepers, retainers, valve stem seals) are in used un-clean condition and are available as well in case anyone is interested. These factory original matching date coded 4 dot quench closed chambered heads are excellent re-buildable heads to have as back ups or for your current or for your future project that may include the Boss 351 Mustang, Mach 1, Torino Ranchero GT Cobra Jet, Cougar Eliminator, Pantera, Shelby Europa, Clevor build, etc.... or for any other M-code period correct muscle car from back in the day. These heads are being sold as is as pictured with a 30 day return policy listed below. Details regarding the 30 day return policy are listed below. Parts that are returned that show more wear, damage, etc.... from improper installation/mishandling will NOT be accepted for a full refund.
