Description: Restaurant ware plate from the Bay State Raceway (aka Foxboro Raceway), Foxboro, Massachusetts. The plate is date coded for 1960, Jackson China Falls Creek PA. The Bay State Raceway opened in 1947 and operated for some fifty years (the name later changing to New England Harness Raceway and Foxboro Raceway) before finally closing for good in 1997. The facilities were later razed to make way for Gillette Stadium. This oval plate is about 8 5/8" in wide by 7" tall. The piece is in excellent condition showing very little wear. The plate would be perfect for serving appetizers, as a salad or sandwich plate, or so many other uses. We have two cups and saucer sets, if you are interested in all, we will be happy to combine shipping.
