Webster | 1851 A beautiful plate manufactured by Felix and Richard Pratt featuring the sought after and highly collectible marbled malachite border. Introduced for the Great Exhibition of 1851, this plate features a color print title the "The Truant" after an original painting by T. Webster called "Going to School." Highlighted with a Gilt rim it is one of a small series of very high quality decorated pieces featuring well known works of art (at the time) that are regarded as the apex of the factories production in terms of quality and color reproduction. This plate measures approximately 9-3/8" diameter. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Some very slight utensil marks that you have to hold the plate to the light to see.
