Description: Some marker markings on back of both as well as water damage on back. Fronts appear in good condition, frames will need some detailed cleaning. Rare, vintage circa 1950s, pair of framed, Impressionist, Victorian-Lady lithographs by John Frederick Lloyd Strevens. John Strevens was a well-known artist born in 1902 and died in 1990 who left behind a famous body of work depicting mostly Edwardian-era, female forms accented with pastel flowers. This pair is a fine example of his artistry featuring stylized portraits of Victorian women in floral hats. These lithographs are printed on cardboard with a textured, brushstroke surface and measure roughly 11 by 14 inches in size. The textured surface is meant to fool-the-eye and look like an original, oil painting so it was never intended to have glass. The 2 inch wide frames are made of a lightweight, white, sculptured plastic with raised, scrolled corners. The prints sit back inside the frame as the frame itself slants upward. These very-popular, portrait prints are charmingly sweet and decorated many a a wall back in the day. The textured, lithograph prints and frames are in very-good condition with perhaps a little dust. Would look fabulous in a girl’s bedroom which is where I think they were traditionally hung. They are being sold as a set only. Please be sure before purchasing as this item is NOT returnable. Cross posted. When sold the listing will be taken down!
