This one is for 6 cream pots, all made of fine white porcelain, unsigned Porcelaine de Paris from the 1920’s. The pedestal stand measures 5 ¼ inches high (13.5 cms) and the platter is 9 ½ inches (24 cms) in diameter. It can hold six lidded pots easily or five pots with one on top. Each lidded pot measures 4 inches high (10.3 cms) to the top of the lid and 2 ½ inches (6.3 cms) without the lid. It is 2 ¼ inches (5.7 cms) at the opening diameter. All pieces are in excellent condition and one extra cream pot with lid is included in case of a mishap. Such pots were used to present thick cream, sometimes with berries, or a rich chocolate mousse after a copious dinner. The top of the stand was often used with a small bowl with sugar or powdered cocoa. Presentation of cream pots, with a plate of cookies usually meant that it was the last course.
