Description: Listing is for a dark green frog on a white marble pedestal similar to the one designed by Fabrege. Th Pedistal weighs 3/4 pound and has dimensions of 3/4" diameter and 4.5 inches high. The Frog weight 7/8 pound and has dimensions 4" long, 2 1/2 inches wide and 4 inches high. What is not known is whether the frog is malachite, marble, jade or some other material. It was purchased many years ago jn 2005 and the listing said it was a unique carved jade frog carnelian coral but there are no markings on the frog or pedestal to determine who produced it. My spouse is a frog collector and you will see many of my other listings having figurines with frogs. If you are trying to determine if what you're looking at is real marble, check for scratches or wear. If you scratch a knife across an area on the underside of the stone or in an area that will not be seen and you don't see much damage, then the stone is likely man-made marble or granite. The top of the pedestal where the frog sits does have small scratches and I did use a razor knife on the bottom of the pedestal and did scratch it.
