Description: DESCRIPTION Full Sheet "F" Patron Bomb-Sniffing Dog Stamps Ukraine 2022 September The new postal issue is dedicated to the most famous mine sniffing dog in the world and the mascot of Ukrainian rescuers. Patron, a Jack Russell terrier, serves in the ranks of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and was awarded with a medal "For devoted service". In 2020, the head of the pyrotechnic group of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Chernihiv Region presented his son with a puppy. The dog was supposed to participate in exhibitions, but the full-scale war brought about changes: Patron demonstrated searching abilities and won the hearts of Ukrainians as a sapper, a blogger, and a wartime symbol. In addition to helping to detect mines, the dog also makes visits to patients at children’s hospitals. He is often present at press conferences and meetings with foreign leaders. "Dog Patron" is a set of the first charity postage stamps of Ukraine. The amount of the charitable contribution is UAH 8 and is marked on each postage stamp with a "+" sign. Every person buying the product will contribute to purchasing a mechanized demining machine and to supporting animal shelters. The set includes a sheet of eight postage stamps "Dog Patron", an unstamped C5 art envelope, an unstamped C6 art envelope and a postcard.
