Description: Welcome to Another Premium Vintage PC Auction from The Old PC Shop! Up for auction is a very clean Gateway Essential mini-tower optimized for hosting Windows 98 (and many Windows 95) legacy applications or some retro games. The mainboard has open PCI slots for additional cards (a PCI video card upgrade would be a good idea for serious retro gaming), and the PC features a new CD-RW drive as well as a functioning 3.5" floppy drive. PC has Intel Pentium III 667 MHz CPU, 256 MB RAM, and a fast 40GB SATA hard drive accessed via a SATA-to-IDE converter. A clean install of genuine Windows 98 Second Edition has been completed with all drivers configured, including service-pack updates, DirectX 9c, etc. It has a rare 56K Voice Modem and a Realtek Ethernet NIC configured for TCP/IP networking with DHCP enabled. I have also created a Bootable Restore CD and the Windows 98 SE install binaries are on the hard drive. A power cord is included. The case is in very good condition - see the pictures.
