Description: The La Colombe d’or translates in English to the Golden Dove. This five story Hotel is elegant, expansive and impressive with beautifully hand painted detail. It will add an exceptional touch to any miniature French village. The main entrance is marked by a sign with a golden dove stretching its wings in flight over blue sky and sea and a statue of a white dove on the ledge above it. The large brown domed main door beside the sign leads into an expansive walled courtyard, large enough to accommodate a number of tables, chairs, umbrellas, people, etc. in any configuration you wish. The Hotel has thirty windows and two main doors. The brown shutters and white window ledges and panes are incredible in their carefully painted detail. Several of the windows have up to fifteen separate window squares separated only by thin white painted panes. Beautiful pink and white flowers grow in their greenery in tastefully chosen places. (Please See Photos). The piece is in excellent condition. It has never been displayed by its owner. It is signed on the bottom: J. Carlton by Dominique GAULT, PEINT MAIN - HAND PAINTED, an encircled c, EFSA, and the number 218422. It measures a little over 4 “ tall x an impressive 5” long x 2 ¼ “ wide. The courtyard itself is 2” x 2”
