Description: George Frederick Watts’ (British, 1817-1904) - Iconic “Hope” (also seen titled ‘Misery’) - Original Unframed Color Print. Circa 1920’s. Image dimensions are 9”x 12”, outermost stiff matte backing dimensions are 13 1/2”x 10”. The Color and Condition are excellent. It was found behind a purchased framed print with a 1928 Framer’s label still affixed to the back. It has tears only in the light tan borders on both sides (photos 9 & 10); The image is not affected. The print is tipped on (from the top only) a light brown/tan colored matte. It is pencil-titled and signed (obviously not by Watts) in bottom margin (photos #6 & #8). It is a Reinthal and Newman (NY) publication. Would look quite elegant matted and framed. The last photo (Not included) is a reading of Watts’ and his philosophy of life and art.
