Description: This 10-Para, printed matter-rate cover(in pretty good condition, with intact back flap, but creases here and there, including two larger, vertical and horizontal ones across its middle) was sent from the German Post Office in Jerusalem to a Herrn Consul a. D. Valentiner, in Wiesbaden, Germany, on October 21, 1905! The mail actually originated from the Evangelical Lutheran Christmas Church in Bethlehem(Note the nifty, purple cachet at the back!)! The construction of that church was completed in 1891. It wasn't allowed to open until 1893, though, as Ottoman authorities dragged their feet on the potentially controversial matter! The church is still in operation to this day!
