GI JOE FIREFLY 'U.S./JAPANESE SALESMAN SAMPLE' TAKARA MOC

Description: Up for your buying pleasure is a Moc as rare you might find. One of only 2 known Mocs of this figure, still on card. This is a must have for any G.I. Joe Firefly or 1984 Collector. Here it is, a 'Salesman Sample' US/Japan, Takara Firefly Moc. I bought this years ago from a Japanese seller. There is thought to be only 30 of these ever released in Japan. Of the 30, there are thought to be only 2 of these still on card. The other, is with the Japanese collector I bought this one from. The story behind these Salesman Samples cards, was that before Japan decided to make their own cards, they considered releasing them, just like they did with the Star Wars Takaras, by adding the decals onto US releases. So they decided to do a test in Japan by releasing 30 of each of the most popular 1984 figures. I know there are Storm Shadows, Baronesses & Scrap Irons, that were also released as such. They went around to the biggest Toy Stores in Tokyo and put a couple of these figures in each store. The gentleman I bought this off was a teenager at the time and went to a few and grabbed what he could. Some he opened & some he kept on card. He of course did not realize how rare they would become, because they had not made a decision on which cards to release them on. Now there may be other Firefly's still on card in blackhole collections, but in the decade + that I have owned this, I have only ever saw other figures from the 84 line, no other Fireflys to my knowledge. The Japanese seller also believed there were only 2 still on card. So here is your chance to own a very rare and select card. As you can see the card is still in great condition. Unpunched & if I had to guess what grade it might receive, it would likely be a 75 or 80? The figure and bubbles are all excellent and factory sealed. O-ring appears tight. There are a lot of detailed pictures, so please see the pictures shown for exact condition. I think you'll agree, this is a very nice piece. It displays beautifully. And I have to admit, this is my very favorite piece and it's hard to let go of. As Firefly was always my favorite character by far. I collect a few other toylines, but this is the one I like the best. But it is time to move this on to another collector, that will appreciate it as much as I have.
