Since its introduction in the 1980s, this model has an attractive, smart look that does not have the flashy decorations of its big brothers, the Les Paul Standard and Les Paul Custom. Maple top and mahogany back body, slightly thick maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. It has been given a relief treatment, making it lightweight. The combination of the classic 490R and 490T pickups produces a powerful and rich tone that is unique to this model. The satin finish paint gives it a glossy look that comes with playing. There are fine scratches and small dents. There are small dents and paint chips on the outer periphery of the body and headstock. There is rust and cloudiness on the metal parts such as the bridge. The frets and nut are still at a sufficient height, and the truss rod can be turned left and right.
