Description: Goebel M.I. Hummel # 81 2/0 "School Girl" - 4.625" Tall - Full Bee Trademark (TMK-2) - Stamped "Germany" - Master Painter "F" Marked - Closed Edition. HUM 81 2/0 School Girl - TMK-2 Height 4.625" Originally modeled by master sculptor Arthur Meller in 1937. There are variations with the size, colors and basket. This number, 81 2/0, is the only number with the basket filled. All others have the basket empty.The old names of this hummel were "Primer Girl" or "Little Scholar". This motif was used on the 1980 Annual Plate, Hummel number 273. This is a closed edition. See below for the specifications of this hummel: Has "" Full Bee Trademark (TMK-2) stamped in Blue on underside of base. Stamped "Germany" in black on underside of base. Standing at 4.625" high, it is near the tallest range of height listed in the catalogs. (4.25"-4.75") Hummel Number "81 2/0" and Factory Control Number "12" incised on underside of base. "M.I. Hummel" signature is incised on rear side of base. "F" Handsigned on underside of base by Master Painter. ("F" is my interpretation of the Painter's Mark, it could be an "E". Please view pictures to assess.) Colors are strong and do retain Gloss. Closed Edition. Hummel is in Good condition for it's age. No Chips! No Repairs! No Touch Ups! There is some crazing detected throughout the piece. View final four pictures, one with and one without light and magnification for each area. Hummel may have some dust from sitting in the China Cabinet for several decades. I certainly did not want to damage it inadvertently by cleaning it.
