An Incredible ! art design ( & colors ! ) on this Spring Tour '82 Baltimore Pass ... White & Green ! on the image itself - and Light-Blue ! on both the border - and on " Grateful Dead " !!! As with any G.D. Pass - the Beauty ! is in the eye of the beholder, obviously ... but, this-one just looks Awesome ! with these Watery ! Green / Blue contrasts ... and naturally - its for the " Grate ! " State of Maryland ! that we are talking about here !! In " The MD ! " at the Good Ol' Baltimore Civic ! ... an old building ( still standing & operational ! as of today ) that the Grateful Dead played in on & off for a 10-Year Period between '72 & '82 ! You are likely well-familiar with the '72 Show ! - as it was ' picked ' for the Dick's Picks Series ! - in the tangible form of Dick's Picks #23 !!! And this 4/19/82 Show ? Well, it was indeed the very-last time that the Grateful Dead played the Good Ol' Civic - as from here on out it was All !!! Merriweather Post Pavilion ! - and the Cap Centre ! in Maryland - with of course, the one single-exception in '81 where the Band played U of M ! inside the Cole Field House !! Just think " Bird Song " !!! Well, though many Dead Fans might disagree ... I'm pulling 100% for 6/30/85 being the best Show ever-played in Maryland ! But, I do know that claim does shun the 1/2 Dozen Shows at the Cap Centre - many of which are-indeed " Legendary ! ". And, the 1/2 Dozen Shows at the Baltimore Civic too ! - as this place was getting treated to the Dead exclusively ! in some of those " Prime " Years - the likes of '72, '73, '77, and even '79 & '80 too ! But, from an analog " Taping " perspective ... this 4/19/82 might very well be one of the most well-circulated off all ! And the reason - well, at least the ' main ' reason >>> Phil !!! As this Show is indeed the night where Mr. Lesh decided to deliver what is best known as the " Raven Space " !!! I mean after all ... this-is the stopmin' ground of the Legendary Edgar Allen Poe !! One of the Greatest & Most-Famous ' Marylanders ' of All-Time - and believe me ... there are lots ! Well, I won't name-names here - but Cal Ripken has to be up there ! Ha ! Among-Many !!! I think it's so-cool that Phil decided to lay this down in the MD ! Showing some serious respect ! I love it !!! All & all ... I think it would have been way-cool to have more " Phil Zone " stuff like this - as I myself - am a Seastones Fan ! Yet another dimension - in the very-vast Grateful Dead Galaxy !!! Well, if for some reason you have never heard the ' Raven Space ' - then its time to do a little Mining ! I mean hey, just like we used to all say in the Cap Centre ... like every single Show ! ( at least ! once ) - " We Want Phil !!!!!!! ". Enjoy this ' G.D. ' meets " The MD ! " Rock 'n Roll Treasure... 4/19/82 - featuring " The Raven Space !!!!!!!!! ".
