Actors Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre have already been cast as Jordan an Stewart, respectively, confirming the age difference between the two men -- a notable difference from modern DC Comics storytelling. In DC Comics' past, however, the age difference between the two characters was apparent. DC had aged Hal Jordan, who would eventually become an evil version of himself known as PARALLAX. He would die as Parallax, become the new host of The Spectre in the afterlife, then years later, be restored to life as a younger version of himself. The older characterization of Hal Jordan, especially in comparison to Jon Stewart, is perhaps best visualized on the cover of GREEN LANTERN #1 (Vol 3) from 1990, the first issue of the longest running Green Lantern series to-date (1990-2004). It is also the very first issue in which Hal Jordan's hair would begin turning grey, a metaphorical sign of his slide toward villainy. The series would also feature Green Lantern GUY GARDNER, a character set to appear in James Gunn's Superman (2025) and Green Lantern KYLE RAYNER, who would be introduced in Green Lantern #50 and later take over the series for Hal Jordan after his transformation and death as Parallax.
