The comfortable handle allows for greater control or the angle and pressure of the cut. Once the position of the brace has been marked start by sawing the edges. Our Japanese Mini Super Saw is perfect for this. Saw to the depth of the brace. Usually the saw is angled so that the cut does not go through the guitar's side too far. Chisel away the mortice in small ‘layers’ around 1mm at a time, or whatever the wood will allow. Use the chisel to clear the sides of the mortice as you go, until a perfect rectangular hole is made.
