The head slides into the handle without any mechanical connection or weld. This amazing knife will last for many years. The blade consists of approximately 288 layers of 1095 and 15N20 steel , giving the manufacturer a surface with an amazing and unique pattern. The blade of the knife is the result of many hours of forging. Few manufacturers are able to obtain such a pattern on the layers flowing all the way to the edge of the blade - this creates a saw blade effect at a microscopic level which allows the blade to retain its cutting properties for a long time without the need for sharpening, while other blades dull. Ideal for the outdoors- hunting, fishing, camping. The blade has undergone excellent heat treatment so it holds its edge/sharpness very well.
