We do not charge a lot for all the extra work to carefully provide a safe delivery of your new art piece and we have not raised our prices in over 20 years of online art selling. In fact for both commissioned paintings and shipping we have actually lowered prices. However, despite our pioneering efforts to alleviate barren wall syndrome and to combat worldwide inflation, ALL our costs have continued to rise. Because of that we can no longer offer combined /discounted shipping for the smaller study-sized canvas paintings. We request that the small auction-won paintings not be immediately re-sold on online auction sites. Retail/ gallery price is $900 - $1200 on this size ...recent estate auction for an 18x24 Hawkins original cloudscape sold for $3800. Many have sold for more than $2000 and many have sold for more then $5K! Collectable, affordable genuine fine art American Oil Painting by (still) living artist. Medium: Unframed oil painting on canvas panel Canvas Size: 16x20 inches 2004-2024 Thank you to my patrons and all the beautiful new art friends who have made these years of my on-line art gallery possible! Big and small Galleries, Museums, Grand Canyon Association, Corporate collections , US. Senators, Hollywood personalities, BBC programs and the new ABC television series Whiskey Cavalier have all hung a Wm. Hawkins original work on their walls… but you guys that bid and buy direct from me in the little desert studio here in Tucson, AZ. are the best! Please be patient with me as I work to paint, photograph, list for sale and package our little attempts at making the walls a better place to live (for our eyes) . My wife Carmen helps me a lot as do a couple of the kids (grown but not forgotten!) As always, please feel free to contact me directly with any questions about the work or commissioning a custom work. The smaller paintings are often studio or life studies and oil sketches and though they are pretty snazzy in their own right, they are not the same as the larger more developed easel paintings. That said, let me know if you're interested in commissioning a larger version of this or any other painting. I'm glad to do it. Prices start at around $1.25 per square inch of canvas...- Mil Gracias!! IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ! Many of my paintings have thick paint and can take a while to cure completely. I will ship oil paint when it is dry to the touch so be careful when handling new paintings. The thick passages may still be a bit soft. Do not worry...with a few weeks cure time the paint will stiffen and the new aroma of natural walnut oil will fade completely. Also, please be aware that my paintings are meant to be viewed FRAMED. As fantastical as they may be and as pleased as you might be with your winning of my unframed little masterpiece be aware that the magnitude of your ocular felicity will increase exponentially as soon as you see the painting framed. They are best viewed and enjoyed with a simple profile dark or gold leafed plein air or craftsman style frame like the one pictured. The colors, drawing and composition of the artwork will all stand out and come together in a most pleasing-to-the-eye fashion when once framed. Enjoyment of any given painting will increase greatly when viewed while FRAMED at eye level on any wall. I strongly suggest having a frame ready for its first viewing or ... drive the unopened package directly to your favorite frame shop without anyone ever seeing the painting in its naked state. Looking for Discounted Shipping for multiple paintings? Just let me know before you make payment and complete checkout and I will adjust the invoice to combine shipping. Did you miss your favorite painting on an auction that ended without you? Commissions welcome. I can make a painting to your size and design specifications...or another version of your favorite scene of a W Hawkins original. Just send me a note requesting information about special order paintings and I will get back to you. I can make another version of any of my paintings you see here or on the the blog link below, on the canvas size that best fits your needs. This painting was made in the studio. I typically work from reference images such as past paintings, studies painted from life or photographs. I have done quite a bit of painting "en plein air" but mostly I paint in the studio creating works that are either inspired by references mentioned above or from the many fond and indelible recollections of the 4000 plus paintings I've made over the past 38 years . § Award winning, Published, Listed artist (art calendar magazine, International Artist, 3 yrs. best on eBay, multiple gallery and fair awards for art & art furniture) § Museum, Corporate & Private collections (US. "Mr. Hawkins - A friend and I were just at the south rim of the Grand Canyon and had the opportunity to see your painting at the Kolb studio Museum - we didn't know you had one there. We walked in to view the paintings, spied one that looked like it was one of yours and were so pleased to see that we were right. It was great to see your work on display! congratulations! Cindy" "Bill, I received the painting last week. It is everything I hoped it would be. The frame is fantastic as well. Excellent craftsmanship. I haven't found one that well made in years! Hope to buy more as economy improves. Jim" "I received your painting today. It's quite beautiful. I will enjoy it from now on. The frame is perfect, too.
