Description: This is a rare October 14th, 1929 combined program (playbill) from the one-week out-of-town tryout engagement of the HERMAN TIMBERG and SAMUEL TIMBERG musical comedy revue "TAKE IT EASY" at the Shubert Theatre in Newark, New Jersey and the one-week, Post-Broadway engagement of the MARGARET AYER BARNES drama "THE AGE OF INNOCENCE" at Newark's Broad Street Theatre. (The musical revue "Take It Easy" had tryouts in Brooklyn and Newark, but closed permanently in Newark, cancelling the scheduled Broadway opening. The Original Broadway production of "The Age of Innocence" opened November 27th, 1928 at the Empire Theatre in New York City and ran for 207 performances before going on the road.) ..... CONDITION: With the exception of a light vertical fold, the start of a split at the bottom seam and moderate edge wear to the front covers, this rare program is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
