C.Roger Barry was a former Quincy Patriot Ledger sportswriter and golf editor. Born in Boston, Roger was raised and educated in Weymouth. He was a resident of Braintree for more than 50 years. Fed by a life long love of sports and being a gifted writer, Roger enjoyed a 52-year career as a sportswriter for the Ledger, covering baseball, football, hockey, basketball, the BAA marathon, schoolboy sports and golf. He was also a Golf Editor for many years. He would often chuckle at some of the labels given to him by columnists such as Mr. Golf and The Godfather of Golf.
