First (and most likely only) edition. Bound in the original publisher's green boards, titled in black to the upper board and spine. Covers with some general soiling, corners and spine ends worn, appears to have been rebacked, but retaining the original cloth. Prev owner's plate to the inner cover. Pages toned, a couple with edge chips. There is a worm hole, extending from the title page to pp38, diminishing in size as it progressed into the book. The author hunts tiger, panther, bear, bison in the Mysore jungle including man-eaters. A scarce Indian big game hunting title published in India and more so in this condition. Silver Hackle is identified as A. G. Shuttleworth, who also authored "Man-eaters and other denizens of the Indian jungle". 38 illustrations from photographs and drawings based on the author's sketches.---------------------------------------------One of a number of similar items I am selling.
