Jackson Guldan Violin Co. Matched Lap Steel and Amp Set

Description: In for sale, on consignment from one of my favorite collectors, this matched set is beautiful - an excellent example of honest wear and in great condition for the age. Over all I love the look, the crackle finish has aged out wonderfully - the amp sounds strong for a small box low watt tube amp and the pickup in the lap is sweet.It definitely is a great pair to display for studio vibe or with a little work on the tuner buttons could make a good vintage player pair. We believe they are from the mid 40's. This listing is for the amp, the lap steel guitar, the purple lined case and the pictured slide.Since we have gotten it in we have done a little structural work on the amp, added a brace and handle, had the chassis cleaned and checked out, plugged in the steel and played. The amp sounds very good - appears mostly original under the hood, still has a two prong plug that looks 1970's to me. The lap is solid, the pickup is still strong, the tone knob spins but the volume is working. I will suggest getting some new buttons for the tuners, the old ones are close to going. Pop a new set of tuners on it, throw the originals in the case and make it player. We would love to get the pair to a player, enjoy!
