JAMIE WYETH, born in James Browning Wyeth in 1946, the son of Andrew Wyeth and grandson of illustrator N.C. Wyeth, is noted for his colorful style, which is light and almost humorous. Jamie, who studied under his aunt and father, is also known for his landscapes, but many of his paintings feature the rugged scenery of Maine, where he now resides. BRADBURY THOMPSON (1911-1995, born in Topeka, Kansas) was a pioneer in blending photography, typography and color, greatly influencing the future of graphic design. The art director for such publications as Mademoiselle, Art News and Art New Annual, Thompson received his first commission to design a U.S. postage stamp in 1958. His designs would appear on 90 additional issues. Lightly toned and rippled. Cachet is lightly smeared but legible. Otherwise in fine condition.
