He moved to Rio de Janeiro in 1967 and began painting the following year, exhibiting his work at the Hippie Fair in Ipanema. His first solo show took place in Fortaleza in 1970; Since then, he has exhibited frequently in Rio de Jato and São Paulo. Savoy painting started from an eminently popular root, having later reached a refinement that translates into the whimsical drawing of curved lines, the smooth, impersonal brushstroke, the coloring reduced to three or four basic tones and the composition, endowed with that unmistakable horror vacui.
