Description: Jules Verne's FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON & A TRIP AROUND IT, publ. LippincottOK, get this: There is no date, no information of any kind in this book. I have never seen anything like it! Why doesn't it have a copyright? Why doesn't it have the edition? Printing date? Place of publication? (my bad: it does day Printed in the U.S.A. on one page. Those are the only words on that page. It has ZERO information in it. Isn't that weird? I cannot find another image of the book that is all green like this one is. Maybe it makes it more valuable. That is, of course, my hope. If it had been a library book, wouldn't it have the important information in it? I've looked it up. This volume contains TWO books: De la terre à la lune (1865; From the Earth to the Moon), Autour de la lune (1870; Around the Moon). Since he wrote in French, his titles are translations. In THIS volume, Around the Moon is called And the Trip Around It. This is not Omnibus Jules Verne. THIS BOOK'S Publication date and Copyright IS TRULY MYSTERIOUS. I got it from a couple who I know. It was in their 4th floor library for many years. I have no idea if it was read. It doesn't look like it. I have another Jules Verne book from this estate, in a another listing, that one has its dust jacket and all the appropriate information in it. Jules Verne also wrote 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA, AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS & JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH, among others. What an interesting guy he must've been! He is also known for having said: “What one man can imagine, another will someday be able to achieve.”
