Kaleidoscope Abelia Flowering Shrub with White Blooms

Description: Enhance your garden with these beautiful Kaleidoscope Abelia Flowering Shrubs. These fast-growing, annual shrubs have attractive multicolor leaves and white blooms that flower in summer, fall, and spring. The foliage is amazing, starting out lime-green to yellow in the Spring, golden-yellow in the Summer, and then turning glowing orange and fiery red in the Fall. Small, white, slightly fragrant flowers appear in Summer and continue into Fall. Butterflies love them. Hardy in Zones 6-9. Prefers partial to full sun for the best results. These cuttings are about 8-10" across (see the last photo). I do recommend that you pot them up before putting them in the ground. You will receive 2 large semi-hardwood cuttings of this beautiful shrub. You can plant the entire cuttings into pots or It is recommended you cut them into smaller pieces and plant them as you wish. The first photo is 2 large cuttings I started in a 4 inch clay pot similar to what you will receive. It is recommended : Using sharp snips, cut a small branch that is around 6 inches long. Cut below a node.Remove any lower leaves.Dip the cut end into root hormone, (not necessary but if you have cinnamon , it makes a good rooting hormone )then gently plant it into well-draining, rich soil.Place the pot in a warm, sunny area. Keep the soil moist.Roots should form in around one to two months.The plants can be transplanted into the ground when the roots are strongThe abelia shrub tolerates a wide range of temperatures, including short periods of cold -5°F to 0°F.
