Description: Autographed 3.5" x 4.5" heavy stock card autographed by the composer, conductor & entire cast of the 1959 World Premiere of Karl-Birger Blomdahl's Opera "Aniara" at the Edinburgh Festival, 1959. The opera was given its' World Premiere in Stockholm by the Royal Swedish Opera on May 31, 1959. It was next performed at the Edinburgh Festival by the same cast on September 3rd and 5th, 1959. We know this was the first performance as baritone Erik Saeden only sung the role one the opening night and has signed here. Signers in order include: composer Karl-Birger Blomdahl, conductor Sixten Ehrling, baritone Erik Saeden, lyric soprano Margareta Hallin, soprano Kjerstin Oellert, character tenor Olle Sivall, bass-baritone Arne Tyren, tenor Sven-Erik Vikstrom and baritone Bo Lundborg. Aniara was one of three operas written by the short lived Blomdahl and a recording was issued by Columbia on the second album in a 2 album set including the music from 2001 A Space Odyssey.
