Description: "KARSH" - A Fifty-Year Retrospective by Yousuf Karsh, 1983. First Edition; hard cover with dust jacket. Excellent condition; some indentations and small tears on front of dust jacket. Indentations appear to be due to someone writing on something that was on top of book and are superficial. Yousuf Karsh was an Armenian-Canadian photographer known for his portraits of notable individuals, and has been described as one of the greatest portrait photographers of the 20th century. The publication of his famous photograph of Winston Churchill on the cover of LIFE magazine in 1942 is generally accepted as having played a large part in diverting the attention of the American public to the plight of Britain and convincing them of our fighting spirit and determination to survive. The photograph is included in this book's collection. Please see all photos.
