Description: Ken Griffey #8 1990 Donruss Learning Series Item is Excellent-Mint or better Samples in the scan, but the SINGLE NAMED PLAYER ONLY. Donruss created this special 55 card set for use in a grade school history program. In the same format as the regular 1990 Donruss issue but with different pictures and a Learning Series logo on card fronts. The two Diamond Kings (Brett and Sandberg) have the LS logo on the reverse. This 'non-commercial' set was not offered for sale by retail or hobby sources. Instead the distribution was through a teachers program as part of a kit containing historical references and a video too. The Learning Series has the same number of cards as Donruss Rookies issues but was not available as a box set. Instead, the teachers program 'card sorters' hand inserted the cards into standard 9 pocket sheets for inclusion in the kits. This often resulted in dinged cards even among those not actually handled by the grade schoolers in class.
