Description: This is a Kustom Signals ProLaser III Police Infrared LIDAR Radar Gun system. This is an infrared laser unit. The condition of the unit is good with scuffs and marks from normal use, storage and transport. The rear display panel & buttons are in great shape with no major defects. Lenses may have scuffs/marks on them, but no cracking, chips or other physical damage. Unit was recently surplused from a government agency. A carrying case is included, it's a Kustom Signals case that has foam inside to keep the unit secured during transit. Case may have writing, cracks, dents or other minor signs of damage due to age and storage but are otherwise in usable shape. The foam on this case is a bit stained in different area with gray and black spots, it may be able to be removed with cleaning supplies although I did not attempt as I didn't want to make it worse. One spot is a little sticky, the other spots are just discolored.I tested the unit out, powers on fine, passes the self test and the speaker works properly. All displays are easy to read, the backlight is working as well, just a bit dim and not as bright as a brand new unit. All buttons and controls are in excellent working order. It features a heads-up display (HUD) that you can look through; through the HUD you can see the target reticle along with information (range/speed) on the object your targeted on. The LIDAR unit was bench and field tested and provides accurate results. All of the readings to my usual distance markers was spot on.There's a small chip off of the bottom of the handle, this is common on these units as over-tightening the battery or battery handle leads to weakness. This does not pose any issue for the unit and you don't even see the chip when the handle is inserted.These units can be powered by proprietary battery packs as well to make them fully cordless, no batteries or charger is included. The power cord handle included was custom built by myself from an old battery pack and works perfectly fine.No calibration history is available aside from the sticker on the unit which shows it expires in November of 2024, calibration is not assumed or warranted in any way. These are NOT the same as standard X/K/Ka Doppler type rader units. Using them for sports/recreation will not work - if the object your pointing at does not reflect infrared light; you will not get a reading back from it. Laser units will not work well through windows; it's recommended that you have a clear unobstructed view of your target. This unit is also in US standards - it supports feet and miles per hour. This unit can only be converted to KPH by the factory, so unfortunately I cannot perform any conversions on these for kilometers use.
