For sale is a large cake of variegated wool yarn. The cake weighs 3.5 ounces or 95 grams, but we have no idea what the length is.As you can see, this yarn is variegated with shades of blue, purple and maroon.This yarn was in a zip lock bag, but there was no indication of weight or fiber content, so we did a burn test and WPI test.This yarn burned when held to a flame and immediately went out once removed from the flame. It also turned to ash and smells exactly like burning hair which indicates it is wool.The yarn did 9 wraps per inch around a pencil which indicates it is a bulky or chunky weight.We are not knitters and do not use yarn for anything, so we aren't experts. However, we found several sites that showed how to tell the fiber content and the weight of yarn which we used to determine the fiber content and weight.There was no indication as to who made the yarn, but we trust it is a high quality yarn given the other brands we got in the large yarn collection.
