Description: Large Vintage 5 Layer Clear Crystal Star Brooch w Safety Chain Stunning, vintage star shaped crystal brooch featuring 5 layers of sparkling, claw set, pear cut crystals of graduating smaller sizes spiralling to a central, round cut crystal. This unsigned piece is reminiscent of the very similar design called 'Sunflower', made by Donald Simpson, but which has a smaller centre stone than this one. It is possibly also Australian made. This is a big, good quality, weighty gem that measures 6.3cm in diameter with a 2.5cm depth. The spiral wire at the back, holding the crystals, is slightly out of shape, however this does not impact the aesthetics of the brooch. In otherwise very good condition with no dull, chipped or missing stones or plating wear. Fastens securely with a rollover clasp and also comes with a safety chain/pin.
