Description: Large Tilted Glass Ball Country Store Jar This unusual shape round ball shape tilted store jar has a wide raised in-glass band around the jar. I do not have the lid for it, and it has one BB hole in the jar. There are no chips, flakes or cracks and the glass is nice & clear. The rim for a lid, which I do not have to fit on is 5 1/4" across. The jar sitting on a counter is about 10" high and at the widest part where the raised band is, it is about 11" wide. The bottom has PATENT PENDING in raised letters and near the base is a small mold circle. The base ring shows appropriate age wear. A jar similar to this one was in my Country Store Advertising Jars book as being a generic jar and called a basketball jar. That one looks like it may have a metal piece on the wide band, which my jar does not have. I have included a picture of that jar in the book in my pictures. The jar weighs 4 1/2 pounds.
