Description: My aunt used to sell Native American jewelry in New Mexico. She gave these earrings to me. I grew up in N.M. and own lots of turquoise jewelry, but I have never seen a green like this before in turquoise. It is also rare to find stones this large or this uniform. The stones are approximately 30 mm long and at their widest, 18 mm wide. They sit nearly 5 mm tall from the base of the earring. The silver portion makes them 40 mm long and about 26 mm wide at the base of the earring. There is one 2 mm x 2 mm wide defect in the turquoise, which is otherwise incredibly smooth. It is hardly noticeable, but appears at the very top of one of the earrings. You can see it in the pictures. The artist is Irv Paul. He and his brother designed jewelry in the 1970s and 1980s. These date back to that time. "I. Paul" is engraved on the back of both earrings. The earring backs are made of sterling silver. The silver work on these earrings is exceptional. They come from a smoke-free, pet-free home.
