Description: Late Qing Dynasty Eggshell Bone China Tea Cup Late Qing Dynasty Eggshell Bone China Tea Cup For sale is a delicate and beautiful late Qing Dynasty eggshell bone china tea cup, dating from the mid to late 1800s. This exquisite piece features a scalloped edge with gilding and is made from very thin porcelain, making it translucent and earning the name "eggshell porcelain." The cup is decorated with vining flowers and birds, all exquisitely hand-painted. The colors remain vibrant even after all these years. The piece has no signature to my knowledge. Key Details: Period: Mid to late 1800s, Qing Dynasty Material: Eggshell bone china Height: 37mm Diameter: 65mm Decoration: Hand-painted vining flowers and birds Edge: Scalloped with gilding Text: Gilded Chinese characters on the back (mostly illegible) Condition: The tea cup is in good condition considering its age, but it does have some issues. One of the scallops has a small chip, which could be repaired by an able restorer. The gilding shows a lot of wear, and the Chinese characters are mostly illegible. The porcelain has some staining in certain areas. Please refer to the images for more details.
