Description: Leather Banjo Strap by Richie Dotson USA Made in our shop right here in Virginia from the finest full grain leathers, never processed or bonded leather. This is the finest leather available for an important job like this, and that is exactly why we chose it.Adjustable up to 56” long. The width of the main shoulder width of the strap is 1.5"The width of the attachment point of the strap is 0.5" wide.We recommend that the attachment on the back side of the strap be ran under the tailpiece bracket or attached above the tailpiece on the bass side of the banjo so as to prevent the strap from rubbing the tailpiece, which may cause premature wear of the leather and move your tailpiece, making your banjo to go out of tune.Full Grain, heavy, 9-10 oz 9/64” - 5/32” (3.6 -4.0 mm) Bourbon Brown. Tough Bull Hide, which is stronger than cow hide, Tanned with Natural Vegetable Oils. Fully Adjustable and built to last! Beefy (OK - some pun intended) but playable and flexible, these straps will hold your expensive, heavy banjo with the durability that you need, with the comfort that you want, and with a classic style that is timeless. There are no sewn together parts that are often used to save leather in the manufacturing process, and this leather will not stretch out at the adjustment holes like thinner or overly-supple leather straps often do, and other than the Chicago screws that hold the ends together around the hooks on the banjo pot, we never use metal do-dads or rivets when making these fine, American Straps. I own some pretty expensive banjos, and I don’t want my resonators and necks to get scratched up from these unnecessary bits of adornment or periphery, so I’m sure that you don’t either! We know that these straps will be supporting and protecting a banjo that is important to you, and we take that very seriously, so we back these banjo straps up with a lifetime warranty. This ins’t a “cradle” strap, because I don’t like for the tone ring to be bound on the outside, but attach to the hooks of your banjo. This strap is designed to fit both one-piece flange and tube and plate (two-piece) flange banjos. This strap may not fit a shoe bracket banjo. You are encouraged to measure the distance from the bottom of your head to the top of the flange on your banjo before ordering, just to be sure. There are situations that the banjo head be very stretched down toward the flange that may prevent this strap from fitting. In most of these cases, the head may need to be changed whether you are buying a strap or not, in my opinion. We highly recommend that once you have your banjo strap adjusted to your liking, that you use a small drop (dab, if you will) of either Loctite 242, Blue Removable Thread Locker, or nail polish on the threads of your Chicago screws before tightening them securely. This will both prevent them from separating and will allow you to take them apart in the future, with some effort, should the need arise. We also recommend a once a year application of a good quality leather balm. We have pre-treated your banjo strap with Saphir brand, which is our leather treatment of choice.
