LEFTY! Vintage 1987 Fender 62 Custom Esquire Telecaster Bound Sunburst Relic HSC

Description: This vintage 1987 Fender Custom Telecaster is a rare left handed example, with a sought after lightweight solid Alder guitar body with the original naturally aged Sunburst finish (various dings and some surface wear in the clear coat on the top shown), and the double cream binding has a classic amber hue. The body was routed by the previous owner for humbuckers, and this has been corrected (shown in the photos). With the Fender made in USA ashtray cover on, this repair isn’t too noticeable and doesn’t affect playability. The body otherwise has all high quality vintage specs, and the guitar altogether has many custom upgraded features throughout. The updated pickguard is a high quality made in USA single-ply 8-hole 1960 replica Esquire guard, and the instruments wiring is fully customized with a classic 50s Simple Esquire mod (shown in photos 20-23) giving you an additional “straight to output jack” tone. You still have a neck pickup-esque tone via the tone control, translating nicely through the made in USA Fender American Vintage ‘62 reissue bridge pickup (with professional aging). This guitar body is also outfitted with the original lefty Fender A serial bridge reminiscent of vintage ‘60s Telecasters, and the guitar features vintage hardware components as well: vintage strap buttons, original MIJ knobs, “Fender” engraved neck plate, and Fender flush mount body ferrules. Features include a vintage spec reissue Fender ashtray bridge with cover, three adjustable threaded 60s reissue barrel saddles, all custom premium electronics with full size Fender pots, updated CRL 3-way switch (straight to output jack, volume only, volume and tone cap), and all custom wiring by hand with green MIJ capacitor, jack, and vintage style output jack cup. This guitar features a 2-piece solid hard Rock Maple neck with desirable 7.25” vintage fretboard radius, 21 vintage frets, truss rod adjustment at heel, medium C profile neck thickness of .85" at first fret, .97" at twelfth fret. It features a VERY unusual modern “C” nut width of 1 11/16” (43mm) and is an upgraded bone nut (Fender American Vintage made in USA), upgraded American Vintage “Fender” stamped reissue tuners with Gotoh adapter bushings, and the original vintage tinted finish in naturally aged condition. The fretboard is conditioned with instrument grade hemp oil and the guitar is currently strung and setup with regular light gauge 10/46 strings. This guitar feels great on a strap at just 7.6 lb.
