Description: For sale is a fairly rare Lemania Regatta with its original lobster bracelet. It's especially rare finding them in this fantastic condition. The watch features a niche and very interesting complication, that of a yachttimer (regate). It's main use is for yacht racing and timing the crucial pre-start sequence of a race. Once the pusher is pressed, the seconds hand resets to the starting position and every minute each of the blue circles becomes orange. When all of them are orange, every minute each of the circles become grey. It divides the sequencing into 5 minutes intervals, for a total of 10 minutes. Some races have a 5 minute pre-start, while some have it at 10, so the complication can handle both intervals. The Lemania cal. 1345 was used in other watches as well, like the Aquastar Regate, by Tissot, Heuer, and Omega. In the 1980s, they decided to produce its own line of yachttimers, and this particular watch is one of them. It's hard to tell the exact year of production, but it's certainly in the 1980s. I wouldn't have been surprised by the condition if the watch was 5 years old, let alone it being from 40 years ago. It's really that good! The dial has practically no signs, even when seen under high magnification. The original sunburst finish is intact, indices and hands are clean, and the printing is intact. Lume is also intact both in the dial and hands. The orange part on the seconds hand is also lume, and that is intact too. Being tritium, lume shines bright under UV light, but loses its charge fairly quickly. The case has light scratches and microscopic dings, exaggerated by the close up photos. The original finish is all there, with the front side having a brushed finish, so I don't think it has ever been polished. Movement looks decently clean. Time setting is smooth. Regata complication starts and keeps time as intended. On the movement photos you'll notice some dark spots on the outside ring and a bit on the rotor. Those are from the melted gasket. A watchmaker can clean it and replace it with a new one, which will also help in water resistance. The bracelet is in great condition with practically no flex. It has 4 links on the upper side and 5 on the lower. It measures almost 17cm (6.7") from lug to lug and it should fit a 17.5-18cm (6.8-7") wrist circumference. Additionally, please check the photos carefully and don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions. Although it runs well, keep in mind you're buying a vintage watch. If you care for it to function properly in the future, a service will be needed. WaterproofThe watch has no water proof rating, but I imagine it's 30m (3 ATM), and that means at most you can wash your hands while wearing it or use it under rain. In no circumstances should it be used under the shower or for swimming. The watch should be tested by a watchmaker and any gaskets replaced to make sure its water resistance is in spec. ReturnsReturns are not accepted unless the watch is grossly misrepresented. Please contact me before buying if you have questions. ShippingThe watch will be shipped within 3 working days via DHL. It should take between 3-7 days to arrive depending on your location. You will be provided a tracking number as soon as shipment is handled. I will not be liable for any customs delays or fees on international orders. Please contact me if you have any questions about shipping.
