Limited edition Hors de Concourse 42, (artist proof set of 42). Includes personalized message from Neiman. Signed in pencil by Neiman in lower right. Neiman's print was used for the cover of the 1977 NBA All-Star Game Program. It's interesting how Neiman chose to include players from different eras and leagues, many of whom never played against each other. Central image depicts Wilt Chamberlain a Laker dunking over Lew Alcindor (later Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) as a Buck with Julius Erving as a Net unsuccessfully trying to block Wilt from behind. Bill Russell, Willis Reed as a Knick and Oscar Robertson as a Royal are below the play. George McGinnis as a Sixer and Meadowlark Lemon as Globetrotter are down court with two other player who might be Bob McAdoo as a Brave and Walt Frazier as a Knick. The painting was probably done in 1975 or 1976, as McGinnis joined Philadelphia in 1975. Matted and framed Numbered "119/300" and signed by the artist. Teams represented include Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, LA Lakers, even the Harlem Globetrotters, with legends Julius Erving, Willis Reed, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, & Bill Russell. Great work to commemorate the merging of the ABA and the NBA.
