This large book measures 10 1/4" x 7 3/4" and is 620 pages followed by 70 pages of halftone illustrations. It is in Very Good condition with some fading and wear to the binding, with some gentle overall wear, with the color-decorated presentation page filled in (an 1890 Christmas gift to a woman from her husband), and with text leaf 57-58 detached and laid in. There are "nearly 200" full-page illustrations. This includes four, tissue-guarded, color illustrations (e.g., image #2 below), 70. pages of halftone illustrations (e.g., image #4 below), and many one-color illustrations (e.g., image #3). The endpapers are decorated, the page edges are marbled, there is no former-owner's bookplate inside, and no foxing.
