Description: Very strong puller and a speed demon at that, magnatraction still strong. I have made the following modifications to the engine: Installed a piston return spring so the engine chuffs smoke reliably Replaced the old pill type heating element with a fluid type heating element in the smoke unit Replaced the headlight with an LED Added a firebox glow effect with LEDs All LEDs have been installed with an accompanying full wave bridge rectifier, so they light no matter the polarity the engine is getting, AC or DC. This locomotive has served me well, I've fixed it and maintained it over the last few years, but there's always been an issue with the leading and trailing trucks. Neither of them like to stay on the tracks very much, damages can be seen in the pictures. The trailing truck has been gouged from the 3rd rail shorting against it, and the pilot or lead truck has some scratch marks from the same behavior. It is because of this that magnets have been glued to the lead truck, as seen in the pictures. This has effectively and efficiently kept the lead wheels on the track. As of now, I have yet to find any issues with this, but I run steel tubular track so it may not work on modern brass, nickle silver, or any other non-magnetic track sadly.
